Two Phase Treatment

“The American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) recommends that all children have a check-up with an orthodontic specialist no later than age 7.” Find out more at their site here.

However, does that mean everyone needs braces at age 7?

In short, no. There are many reasons to perform orthodontics treatment on children aged 7-10, but many times it’s much more efficient to wait until all of the permanent teeth have erupted. In situations where children have severe crowding, crossbite, misaligned jaws, etc. then an orthodontist must be seen for the best treatment recommendations. In many situations, close monitoring of a patient’s growth and development is the best course of action.

Because our initial consultations are free, it never hurts to schedule an appointment to meet Dr. Baron. Rest assured that at B-town Orthodontics, we will always place your best interests first and foremost in our treatment decisions, and we will not recommend treatment if it is not beneficial.
